Max Verstappen of Red Bull set the pace in the first practice session at the Gilles Villeneuve Circuit in Canada, the venue for the tenth race of the Formula 1 season. Franco Colapinto, the Argentine driver, finished in 19th position, showing betterment compared to recent races.

In the session, which was briefly halted due to a crash by Charles Leclerc who damaged his Ferrari’s suspension, Alex Albon (Williams) secured second place, followed by Carlos Sainz in third.

While Williams cars showed surprising speed, McLaren faced challenges. Lando Norris finished seventh, while his teammate, Oscar Plastri, struggled with traffic and ended up in 14th place. A second practice session is scheduled for later today.

Practice Session Highlights

Verstappen demonstrated consistency, leading the session despite the strong performance from the Williams cars in various sectors. Pierre Gasly finished seventh for Alpine, while Colapinto was 19th.

Colapinto managed to improve his time,overtaking Hulkenberg and Ocon to move up to 18th place.

Earlier, Lewis Hamilton narrowly avoided an accident, briefly losing control but managing to correct his course.

alpine’s Adjustments and Colapinto’s Challenge

Alpine has implemented aerodynamic modifications for the Canada GP, including adjustments to the front wing of Colapinto’s car, aiming for better performance.The primary goal for Colapinto this weekend is to minimize the gap with his teammate,Pierre Gasly.

Colapinto is participating in his fourth race with Alpine, a team looking to improve its standing after recent challenges. He aims for a “solid work” in both qualifying and the race.
