From X Factor to Success
Lloyd rose to stardom in 2010 when she finished fourth on the seventh series of The X Factor. Her unique and powerful rendition of “Turn My Swag On” during her audition captured the hearts of many viewers. The music mogul, Simon Cowell, quickly signed her to his Syco Music label, launching her career.

Within months of her signing, Lloyd’s debut single, “Swagger Jagger,” reached number one in the UK charts in July 2011. However, her time with Syco Music was relatively short-lived, culminating in a parting of ways in 2013.
The Fall-out
Lloyd’s departure from Syco Music was marked by accusations of control issues. She had previously stated she couldn’t handle the level of control Cowell’s company exercised over her career. In a candid interview, Lloyd explained, “I don’t really speak to him anymore. I left his label a year and a half ago and I got my record deal here [America]… I have a specific thing I am reaching for, so I have my own idea of how I’m going to get it. We all have a specific thing in life that we want to get to, and I don’t deal very well with people having control.”
