“‘You’re so funny’. Thanks, one time I had my bloods taken when I was 17 and was waiting for the results. I got called out of school, and my doctor was there to collect me. So, I thought to myself, ‘Oh jeeze, I’m dying.’ But really, she told me my dad had just dropped dead.”
A Community of Support
Bonnie’s post received an outpouring of support from her friends and fans. Many shared their memories of Gerry Ryan, expressing how his passing affected them on a personal level.

Coping with Grief
Bonnie has openly discussed her struggles with grief, including her fear of losing her mother after the loss of her father. “When my dad died, I wanted to wrap my mom in clingfilm and bubble wrap and leave her in a corner and say, ‘You just can’t move from here,’ ” she shared in an Instagram Q&A.
She emphasizes the importance of open communication within her family. “My family and I have become so good at being open around each other with talking about my dad that it’s just part of our every day conversation to bring him up. He’s brought up in the good situations.”
Moving Forward
In the years following her father’s death, Bonnie has become more confident in making life decisions. “I think I’ve made better life decisions because I want to make him proud,” she stated. This motivation has been particularly evident in her recent decision to tie the knot with her long-time partner, John, in a stunning ceremony in Italy.
Reflecting on her wedding day, Bonnie said, “I just really drilled it into my head that this wedding day—this is the best day ever and nothing can get in the way of that.”
