Bilingual Education Fair NYC 2025: Date & Details

by Archynetys World Desk

Created in 2014 by French Morning to bring together all the players in bilingual education in New York, and offer a unique place for families to discover all the options available, the Bilingual Fair is back “in person” on Saturday, November 1, from 10am to 3pm.

This year again, French Morning has joined forces with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, which is hosting this show in the magnificent Villa Albertine.

Participation is free, but registration required.

On site, around twenty exhibitors will present their offer in French-English bilingual education: private and public schools, after-school programs, academic support, etc. You will be able to meet school representatives, all gathered in one place for the day.

Conference program

In addition to the exhibitors, the Bilingual Fair also offers a program of conferences, with small audiences, around themes allowing a better understanding of the requirements of bilingual education. The program:

10am – Growing up Bilingual / Grandir bilingue
Perspective of students who have followed a bilingual program throughout their schooling, discussion moderated by Fabrice Jaumont / Perspective of students who followed a bilingual program throughout their schooling, discussion moderated by Fabrice Jaumont

11am – Everything I Got Wrong About Raising a Bilingual Child (in English 🇺🇸)
🎙 With Tara McAllister, associate professor at New York University and a certified speech-language pathologist.
👉 With linguistics degrees from Harvard and MIT and tenure in communication sciences at NYU, Tara McAllister should know a thing or two about what it would take to raise a bilingual child. But when she became a mother, she quickly discovered the truth…
No, children aren’t really little sponges for language, and no, that immersion preschool can’t promise that your child will remain proficient even a few years down the road – no matter how steep the tuition.
The truth, she discovered, is both harder and more hopeful… But when families make the right choices, success is possible.
Author of The Bilingual Bubble, the first no-hype guide that punctures the myths and shows what it really takes to raise a bilingual child, Tara McAllister will share her knowledge during this conversation.

12pm – Read in 2 Languages, a new reading platform
🎙️ With Madison Nguyen, Instructional Designer at CALEC

1pm – Panel on French in universities in partnership with the Modern Language Association (in French 🇫🇷)
🎙️ With Emmanuel Buzay from the Modern Language Association

Registration required for general admission and for conferences here.
