Bergamo Basketball: A2 Series Withdrawal Confirmed

After the case of Trapani, the second series also loses a team during the current season

After the case of Trapani, excluded from the Serie A championship, the A2 also loses a piece. Blu Basket Bergamo, owned by Stefano Mascio, has communicated to the League and the FIP its renunciation of the championship “due to the subsequent and objective impossibility of supporting the future economic, financial and organizational commitments connected to participation in the aforementioned championship”. The team coached by Alessandro Ramagli was mid-table, in 11th position; the ranking will be redrawn by canceling the matches played against Bergamo. The economic situation was so worrying that the players’ association had denounced the situation as “no longer tolerable”: salaries stopped since November, house rents not paid, resignation of president Stefano Mascio and then of the interim president.
