Connor issued an apology via her Instagram story, claiming the gesture was intended as a military-style greeting to signify her readiness for work. She stated:
I understand how some people could have interpreted this incorrectly and regret that. I apologize sincerely if my involuntary actions have caused an offense or pain. I wont to make it clear that I am not racist,nor do I tolerate racism in any way,form or way.
In a subsequent statement, Connor expressed distress, asserting that a screenshot of the gesture was being shared “out of context.” She vehemently denied any intention of performing a Nazi salute and emphasized her zero tolerance for hatred and extremism.
While Nazi salutes were officially prohibited in Australia as of January 2025, authorities reviewed the incident and persistent that Connor’s actions did not warrant criminal charges.
