Thiruvananthapuram: Vandebharat, which has been allotted to Bengaluru via Thrissur and Palakkad from Ernakulam, will start service soon. Railways released the schedule of the train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi may inaugurate the service online. The service will be available on days except Wednesday.

The train departs from Ernakulam at 2.20 pm and reaches KSR Bengaluru at 11 pm. In return, it will depart at 5.10 am and reach Ernakulam at 1.50 pm. Stops have been sanctioned at Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur and Salem Krishnarajapuram.
There were earlier reports that the service would start in mid-November. Bengaluru is a city where many Malayalees work, including in the IT sector. Allowing more trains from Kerala is a long overdue requirement. Currently, this route experiences heavy traffic during the festive season and special days.
