Since the launch of the breast cancer screening campaign in November 2024, the Mammobile has been traveling the roads of Gers to get as close as possible to residents. A real success in terms of public health and equal access to care, this system allows women aged 50 up to the day before their 75th birthday to benefit from free and complete screening, without having to travel far from home.
The Mammobile thus resumes its tour in the department.
Thu 21 au 28 novembre 2025six new Gers municipalities will host this mobile mammography unit:

Accessible free of charge, this screening is reserved for women from the age of 50 until the day before their 75th birthdayhaving not had a mammogram in the last two years. During their visit, they will benefit from a double examination: a mammogram and a breast palpation.
As a reminder, this system, a real success in terms of public health and equal access to care, demonstrates strong local mobilization around prevention. It is based on an agreement between the Departmental Council of Gerset and ARS Occitanie, in partnership with the CPAM, the MSA, the Mutualité Française, the League against cancer and the regional cancer screening coordination centers, as well as on the technical support of the Ariège Prévention Mobile association.
Faced with the success of this initiative, the Gers Departmental Council has perpetuated this system for the period 2025-2030 as part of a multi-year partnership with the Ariège Prévention Mobile association.
