Nosková started the final match on the receiving end and forced herself in the opening game. She was offered three break points, which she did not use. Immediately, however, she equalized with a clean game on her serve. The Swiss reciprocated with a similar coin.
The Czech player pulled through again by holding her serve. But she lost it in the sixth game and Bencicová confirmed the break.
While Bencic defeated the American Sofia Keninova 7:6, 3:6, 6:2 in the semifinals, Nosková went into the title match without a fight, her opponent Jelena Rybakinová from Kazakhstan withdrew before the match due to back pain. The scratch of her opponent helped her for the second time in a row. In the quarter-finals, Russian Anna Kalinská gave up due to injury, but the Czech tennis player had a clear lead over her 6:0, 1:0.
Nosková, who will end the season as the Czech No. 1, advanced to the third final this year. However, she was unsuccessful in Prague against Maria Bouzková, and at the beginning of October she lost to the American Amanda Anisimovová in Beijing. The protégé of coach Tomáš Krupa won her only title last year in Monterrey, Mexico.
Nosková is competing with world number 13 Bencic for the very first time. The Olympic winner from Tokyo 2021 knocked out last year’s finalist Kenina after more than two hours and three sets. She followed up her quarterfinal victory over Karolína Muchová, against whom she averted a match point and won 3:6, 7:5, 7:5.
