Since its debut at the 2022 G20 Summit in Bali, this exhibition has evolved, with a renewed focus on the authentic experiences of artists from island nations and communities directly affected by climate change.

The Curator’s Vision

Curated by Lance Fung, the 2024 edition of Constellations Global Reflections: H2O features artists whose work is a reflection of their immediate and personal encounters with environmental issues. Fung’s selection process ensures that each piece not only captures the essence of individual struggles but also illuminates the urgent need for collective action.

Fung emphasizes the pivotal role art plays in fostering understanding and inspiring change. According to him, “Through Constellations Global Reflections: H2O, each artist provides a deeply personal perspective on the critical need for global collaboration and policy changes to address environmental justice, sea level rise, ocean plastic pollution, and the restoration of empathy and humanity.”

Constellations Global Reflections H2O Edition is part of the broader THK Universal Reflection Journey, championing the themes of People, Planet, Partnership, Peace, and Prosperity. Supported by the Government of Indonesia and offered blessings by Pope Francis, the events aim to build a more inclusive and sustainable future, aligning with the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The iconic Constellations Global Reflections (CGR H2O) opened to the public on December 14, 2024, at Kura Kura Bali, a Special Economic Zone in Indonesia. This serene and forward-thinking destination, spanning 498 hectares, seamlessly integrates Bali’s rich cultural heritage with sustainable, modern principles.
