SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – A number of police came to raid a gay party in a hotel room in the Ngagel area of Surabaya, Saturday (18/10/2025) evening during this operation.
A total of 34 men were arrested by officers at the party.
When the officers broke down the door to the room, dozens of men in the room immediately panicked.
Some of them at that time were without clothes.

Kasat Samapta Polrestabes Surabaya AKBP Erika Purwana Putra explained that the raid was carried out together with the Satreskrim Polrestabes Surabaya and Wonokromo Police.
The operation began with reports from the public who were suspicious of unusual activity in one of the hotel rooms.
“Wonokromo Police and the Surabaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit secured a same-sex sex party in a hotel room in Surabaya. In total there were 34 people,” said AKBP Erika, Sunday (19/10/2025).

From the results of data collection, not all of those raided came from Surabaya.
Some of them are from outside the city, such as Bandung, Malang and Sidoarjo.
They allegedly connected with each other via social media before finally gathering at the location.

Regarding one of the participants who is a state civil servant (ASN), the police are still investigating the involvement of this civil servant in the event.
As of Sunday evening, examination of 34 people was still ongoing.
One of those involved was handled by the Women and Child Protection Unit (PPA).
The police are focused on collecting information and evidence related to the alleged practice of same-sex prostitution.
It is possible that the hotel will also be asked for information.
“This is still under investigation. After everything is finished, we will report it,” said Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Surabaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Inspector Oktavianus Edi Mamoto.
