The beloved classic "Home Alone," filled with laugh-out-loud moments and iconic quotes, is a staple of the holiday season. Several iconic scenes were filmed in and around Chicago, allowing fans to step back in time and relive the magic of Kevin’s Christmas adventure.
The Iconic McCallister House
The McCallister family home, "The silver tuna" as Harry aptly dubbed it, is located in the charming suburb of Winnetka, Illinois. While privately owned and not open to the public, fans can still drive by and take pictures of the house at 671 Lincoln Avenue. Remember Kevin’s pleading to Santa Claus at the end of this street at Chestnut Court Park? You can retrace his steps on that brick-paved strip near Winnetka Village Hall.
Home Alone Movie Sites
Beyond the McCallister residence, several other locations featured in the movie offer fun tidbits to uncover. The home of neighbor Mitch Murphy, where Kevin gets a glimpse into the Wet Bandits’ subterfuge, stands at 656 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka. Additionally, the exterior shots of Trinity United Methodist Church, where Kevin finds solace on Christmas Eve, were captured at 1024 Lake Avenue in Wilmette. And if you’re looking to recreate Kevin’s Christmas shopping spree, take a stroll down 606 Green Bay Road in Winnetka, which served as the backdrop for the grocery store scene.
