2026 World Cup Qualified Teams: England, Ivory Coast & Senegal

The selection of England, which became the first European team to stamp its World Cup passportand the Ivory Coast and Senegal teams, which achieved the last two direct tickets at stake in Africa, raised this Tuesday twenty-eight teams qualified for the 2026 World Cup.

England, which beat Latvia 0-5, is the first European team to reserve a place for the World Cup to be held next summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada. where sixteen teams from the Old Continent will participate.

For its part, Ivory Coast and Senegal, who will compete in their fourth World Cup final phasecompleted the list of nine African teams directly qualified for the World Cup.

A list that already included Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde and South Africa, which will make up part of the 48 teams that will compete in the 2026 World Cup.

Besides, The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will have a place, still to be determined, in the international play-offs.

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) has already completed its qualifiers, with the classification of the current world champion, Argentina – which won its third Cup in Qatar 2022 (after those of 1978 and 1986) -, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia.

In addition to these six direct places, Conmebol had a play-off place, which Bolivia conquered, finishing seventh in the table.

New Zealand obtained the only direct place in the Oceanic Federation (OFC), while New Caledonia – which recently debuted in the U-20 World Cup in Chile – will participate in the international play-off with the dream of also participating in an absolute World Cup for the first time.

Asia grants eight direct places, which will be occupied by Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, in addition to a pass for the international play-offs.

The North, Central America and Caribbean Confederation (Concacaf) is also in the qualifiers, but, unlike Europe, it has the three hosts already classified ex officio, Canada, the United States and Mexico.

Three other teams will obtain a direct place and two more will go to the play-offs.

The teams that have already qualified for the 2026 World Cup

Conmebol (South American Football Confederation): Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia.

CAF (African Football Confederation): Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, South Africa, Ivory Coast and Senegal.

AFC (Asian Football Federation): Japan, Iran, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
