Norway Ship Tunnel: Coastal Administration to Negotiate

by Archynetys News Desk

The Norwegian Coastal Administration will now negotiate prices with those who want to build a city ship tunnel. It determined the Storting today.

Thus, the last words are not said in the long saga of the ship tunnel.

The government pulled in the emergency brake on Friday. They will scrap the entire project – before the Norwegian Coastal Administration has negotiated price.

According to Jonas Gahr Støre, the price tag on the ship tunnel is 9.4 billion. He thinks it is not possible to negotiate the price anything special down.

It was the Center Party, the KrF and the Left who were behind today’s proposals for the Storting. Also Frp and Høgre supported the proposal, which has this wording:

“The Storting asks the Government to ensure that the Norwegian Coastal Administration is successful and completes the ongoing negotiations with the selected contractors in the work on the Stad ship tunnel to bring out a final price, as well as work out cost -reducing measures.”
