Longueuil Pedestrian Fatality – Route 116 Crash

A pedestrian lost her life after being struck by a vehicle Monday evening in Longueuil, which also forced the closure of three lanes of Route 116.

Shortly after 7 p.m., several calls were made to 911 to report a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle which had just occurred on Route 116, near Cousineau Boulevard.

The pedestrian, a woman aged in her forties, was transported to a hospital. She finally succumbed to her injuries in the evening.


The accident forced the closure of Route 116 between Cousineau and Édouard boulevards. In the evening, the area was always to be avoided, said agent Jacqueline Pierre, of the Longueuil agglomeration police department.

At the time of writing, an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the collision. Reconstructionists were to go to the scene of the accident.
