Craig Robinson Turns Villain in Psychedelic Comedy "Toad"

Exclusive news! Actor Craig Robinson, beloved for his comedic roles in hits like The Office and Pineapple Express, is taking on a sinister turn.

Robinson has joined Adam Rifkin’s upcoming comedy film, Toad, as the charming yet terrifying villain, Charles. Set in the vein of classic psychedelic comedies like Up In Smoke and Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, Toad follows the hilarious journey of two clueless slackers, Sam (James Paxton) and Alex (Oliver Wyman), hired to transport a box of psychedelic toads. Things go hilariously wrong when the toads overheat, leading to an unexpected dose for our hapless heroes and a wild hallucinogenic adventure.

Robinson’s Villainous Role

Charles, Robinson’s character, entrusts the toads to Sam and Alex, leading to chaos when the duo fails to deliver. Now, Charles and his muscle must intervene, bringing their own brand of hilarious trouble to the mix.

Rifkin expressed his excitement about working with Robinson, stating, “Craig Robinson is not only a comedy genius, but he’s also the nicest guy in the world. Which is why I’m all the more excited for him to play our villain. I can’t wait to see that adorable smile of his turn dark. It’s an honor to be working with such a funny and talented guy on this extremely important movie!”

Robinson, clearly excited for the project, commented, "I love Adam Rifkin movies and I love toads. The fact that the script is hilarious, and the cast is stellar didn’t hurt either.”

With a talented cast, including Robinson, Paxton, Wyman, and directed by comedy mastermind Adam Rifkin, Toad promises a hilarious and unforgettable psychedelic ride.

Production starts in February, under the Laugh Factory Presents banner. Keep an eye out for updates on this exciting comedy adventure!
