Beijing, September 30 (Xinhua) – XI Jinping, secretary general of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCC), stressed on Monday the importance of ensuring that religions in China adapt more to the Chinese context.
While he chaired a group study session of the political office of the Central Committee of the CCP, Mr. XI also called to provide active orientations to religions so that they can adapt to socialist society.
Since the 18th CCC National Congress in 2012, the party has implemented a series of new ideas and measures, including the principle of sticking to the orientation of sinizing religions in China, said Xi, adding that these efforts had led to results in religious work in the new era.
According to Mr. XI, the adaptation of religions in China to the Chinese context is the key to achieving religious harmony, ethnic unity, social harmony and long -term stability of the country.
He also called for efforts to guide personalities and religious believers to develop a precise understanding of the country, history, ethnicity, culture and religion.
Religions in China can only perpetuate itself by the effort to always take root in Chinese culture, said Mr. XI, calling for efforts to promote the integration of religions with the flagships of traditional Chinese culture.
Management on religious affairs in accordance with the law is the fundamental measure to deal with the contradictions and problems in matters of religion, said Mr. XI, emphasizing the need to improve regulations and associated policies. END
