The event aims to educate participants on habitat improvement techniques, especially those applicable to excavator lakes. key topics include long-term strategies such as incorporating dead wood bundles and creating shallow water zones to improve habitats.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Klefoth and guest speaker Andreas Maday, a fishing biologist at the Lower saxony Angler Association. V. (AVN), will demonstrate the effectiveness of these measures. They will explain how the benefits of dead wood and shallow water zones in quarry lakes can last for years, unlike fish stocking. Participants will also learn how to apply this knowledge to other habitats like rivers and streams, benefiting fish, anglers, and the environment.
