Recent activity surrounding shares of DPAINT has stirred considerable interest and speculation in the market.
On September 19, the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,292.72 points, down 4.29 points, with a trading volume of 47,981.93 million baht.
Foreign investors sold off 3,190 million baht, while funds bought 441 million baht.Proprietary trading accounted for a sell-off of 369 million baht, and retail investors bought 3,118 million baht.
DPAINT has been particularly active, with a meaningful Big lot transaction involving 60 million shares, or 26% of the company, from the Tangkhakhun family. These shares were acquired by Phenporn Wongnapratlert and Sitapan Sombatthira for 36 million baht, granting them immediate control.
Interestingly, Phenporn wongnapratlert shares a surname with Napaporn Wongnapratlert, an Independent Director, Audit committee member, and Chairman of the Recruitment-Considering Compensation committee, who resigned on September 18, the same day as the Big Lot transaction.
Adding to the intrigue, two other DPAINT directors, piyaphon Wongwetwetsin and Siriphon Wongjon, also resigned on september 19, paving the way for Phenporn and Sitapan to join the committee. This swift replacement suggests a coordinated effort.
Napaporn’s position has been filled by Suphot Pannoi, effective September 19. Within a short span of one to two days, three committee members resigned, and Phenporn and Sitapan were appointed, granting them signing authority alongside Ronarit Tangkarawakhun or Atthaphon Tangkarawakhun.
The major changes at DPAINT warrant close attention. While CEO Atthaphon Set Up maintains that the management structure remains unchanged, the entry of the two new female investors as Strategic Partners and strategic Investors suggests a potential shift in business strategy.
Following the Big Lot transaction, Atthaphon and Ronrit Set Up hold 25.87% of the shares, slightly less than the 26.09% held by the two new investors, raising concerns about future risks.
