Motorcycle Crash in Berlin Township | Huron County Death

A 23-year-old Elyria man escaped injury from a two-vehicle crash Aug. 31 that left a Huron man dead on U.S. 6 in Berlin Township, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post.

Cade Gwynn, also 23 , died from his injuries, according to the release.

At 8:58 p.m., troopers responded to Route 6, near state Route  61, for the two-vehicle crash.

Gwynn was driving a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle west on Route 6.

The Elyria man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu east on Route 6. Police say he failed to yield while turning left into a private driveway.

Gwynn then struck the side of the Malibu and was thrown off of his motorcycle, the release said.

The Elyria man was wearing his safety belt and did not suffer any injuries, according to the release.

Gwynn was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and/or drug use is not suspected in this crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

The  Eric County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Highway Patrol on scene.
