Wednesday, August 27, 2025, marked a historic night at the Louis-Sanguin stadium in Agde, as it hosted the inaugural edition of the Hérault Champions trophy. The event showcased a double-header featuring the winners of both the Championship and the Departmental Cup.

Despite the rainy conditions, a near-capacity crowd filled the stadium to witness the two highly anticipated matches, one female and one male.

At 6.30 p.m., the women of Saint-Pargoire delivered a commanding performance against Nissan-lès-Lesérune.

Displaying skillful football, the “Yellows and Blue” secured a decisive 5-0 victory, maintaining control throughout the game.

SC Saint-Thibéry Victorious After Penalty Shootout

In the evening, the men’s match featured a clash between SC Saint-Thibéry, the Hérault champions, and Canet, the Cup winners.

After a tense first half, SC Saint-Thibéry managed to equalize just before the break, responding to an early goal from a corner.

The second half saw a more fragmented game, with the score remaining level at 1-1. The match ultimately went to penalties, where the Saint-Thiberians demonstrated their composure, winning by two goals.

Jean-Michel Oltra, president of the RCO Agde, the event’s host club, was recognized for his dedication at the end of the evening.

The initiative, spearheaded by the association of Hérault educators, with support from the district and technical assistance from RCO Agde, proved to be a resounding success with the audience.
