An international study reveals a paradox: in twenty years, burned areas have fell 26 % worldwide, but 440 million people were exposed to flames, an increase of 40 %. In question: the intensification of weather conditions favorable to fires, but also agricultural and urban extension in vulnerable areas. If Africa concentrates most of the exhibitions, America, Asia and Europe are also concerned. Faced with this growing risk, prevention and management strategies become crucial.
