A 74-year-old woman in the Paderborn district fell victim to WhatsApp fraud on Thursday morning, August 21. The police are issuing renewed warnings about all types of telephone fraud.
Around 10 a.m., the woman received a WhatsApp message purportedly from her daughter, claiming her cell phone had water damage and she needed money urgently. The senior citizen complied with the request, transferring funds after receiving account details via WhatsApp.
