Following the storm on saturday, August 16th, which impacted merchants in the Solidarity II subdivision, Israel Díaz Martínez, the director of tianguis and markets of the municipality of Aguascalientes, has announced that government support is being provided to those affected.
“Until now we have 70 tents delivered to merchants who were really the most affected, mainly in the area closest to the river, where the current caused greater damage,” he said.
Díaz Martínez stated that various municipal and state agencies, including Civil Protection, Firefighters, Paramedics and Municipal Police, were deployed on Saturday to assist those affected and close off streets in vulnerable areas.
“Civil Protection and Firefighters were the first to arrive, followed by the Police and Road (…) Our Mayor Leo Montañéz operated all the necessary units, and our Governor Tere Jiménez immediately asked what they needed to continue working. The answer were tents, which were delivered both on Saturday and Sunday,” he said.
