The Caravan Salon Düsseldorf plans to provide impulses for tourism development with the specialist program “Destination Future” from September 1 to 4. Around 30 experts discuss caravaning, outdoor trends and infrastructure. The program includes parking space expansion, sustainable natural tourism, practical examples from regions and new concepts in active tourism.
The Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf wants to be more than a sales fair for motorhomes. With the specialist program “Destination Future”, he also moves into the view of the tourism industry. From September 1 to 4, 2025, the fair wants to offer space for knowledge transfer, networks and specific practical examples.
The Düsseldorf trade fair works with partners such as the Caravaning Industry Association, the German Tourism Association, the German Hiking Association, the ADAC and the Travel Industry Club. The focus is on questions about the infrastructure, demand development and the economic potential of caravaning.
The start on September 1st is devoted to the parking space expansion. The 5th German parking lot day is about standards, quality and investment strategies. In the evening, the “Innovation Stage” moves technological developments into the light that could shape the market in the future.
Sustainability in outdoor tourism
On September 2, the symposium “Nature, Tourism, Future” addressed the importance of sustainable concepts. In addition to perspectives for wine and pleasure tourism, the focus is on the exchange between tourisms and the caravaning economy. The day is complemented by a network format that is intended to strengthen the cooperation between destinations and industry.
September 3 brings concrete reviews. At the second “Camping Destination Day”, actors from the Black Forest and the GLAMPING project Schloss Thurn present how overnight tourism can arise from day trips. The aim is to show the change towards more added value in the regions.
Future of active tourism
The end of September 4 is the “Future Day Active Tourism“. It is about resilient concepts and the address of new target groups. Experts provide impulses for strategies that are supposed to make destinations fit for changing travel habits.
The organizers see caravaning as an integral part of many tourism strategies. With “Destination Future” they want to offer experts from municipalities, destinations and the industry a practical platform. Participation in the program is free of charge.
