8/8/2025 – The Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola will close its summer cycle tomorrow in the park of Spain with a lyric gala of Zarzuela. It will be from 9:30 p.m. with free admission. This has been announced today by the Councilor for Culture, Rodrigo Romero, who has pointed out that the concert will count as invited artists with Alicia Naranjo, Antonio Bermúdez and María Calvo
“Tomorrow we close the summer cycle of the Municipal Music Band with a lyric gala of Zarzuela with which they always delight us, not only with their music but also with the accompaniment of great musicians and singers, as in this case with Alicia Naranjo, Antonio Bermúdez and María Calvo,” Romero said.
The recital will begin with the prelude to the Revoltosa, by Ruperto Chapí, and will continue with pieces of zarzuelas such as the Tabernera del Puerto, the last romantic, the Jewish child, the duo of the African, the Gran Vía, the bunch of Rosas, the Trust of the Tenitudes and Don Gil of Alcalá.
The second part of the concert will start with the Pasodoble El Cat Montés, to continue with themes of the Tabernera del Puerto, Doña Francisquita, El Barberillo de Lavapiés, Luisa Fernanda, the barber FDE Sevilla, La Tempranica and Katiuska.
Romero has invited to attend Fuengiroleños and visitors, “because it is a good time to fire the municipal band as it deserves, with a closed applause, because they have offered fantastic concerts and are the dorsal spine of the cultural activities that we propose from the area of culture for summer.”
Founded in 1962, the Municipal Music Band of Fuengirola currently has in its catalog with more than 1,100 printed works and more than 2,090 interpretations in its more than 300 concerts offered to date since 1997, beginning of the stage with its current headline on the podium. Consolidated as a collective of professional reference musicians on the Costa del Sol, the group is directed by Alfredo Alarcón Campoy.
