Victoria University Partners with EON Reality to Revolutionize Education in uganda

KAMPALA – Victoria University (VU) and EON Reality launched a partnership on June 17, 2025, aiming to transform Uganda’s higher education system. The collaboration, facilitated by EON Reality’s Spatial AI R&D Grant Program, will implement a “Third Way” education model, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR) into the university’s curriculum.

The announcement has generated excitement among students. Aisha, a computer science student, expressed her enthusiasm for the new approach, anticipating learning experiences that move beyond customary lectures.

“I’ve always dreamed of learning through real-world simulations,” she saeid. The partnership aims to provide immersive learning experiences, allowing students to design virtual prototypes, explore digital ecosystems, and simulate business ventures using EON Reality’s XR technology.

At the launch, held at VU’s Business Innovation Hub near Market Plaza, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga emphasized the importance of aligning education with Africa’s growing digital economy.

“This is more than a partnership; it’s a leap toward preparing our youth for a tech-driven world,” he declared. Representatives from EON Reality demonstrated a virtual engineering lab, showcasing the integration of AI-driven analytics and XR environments. The presentation was well-received by attendees, including local entrepreneurs and educators.

Michael, a business major, believes the program will provide practical skills.”I can test market strategies in a virtual world before risking real capital,” he said. Faculty members are also preparing to incorporate Spatial AI into various curricula, including engineering and healthcare.

The partnership between VU and EON Reality represents a significant step toward modernizing education in Uganda, promising hands-on, tech-enhanced learning experiences designed to prepare students for the demands of Africa’s digital future.
