Spotify’s recent Loud & Clear report from Egypt revealed significant growth in the region. Royalties earned by Egyptian artists on Spotify have increased more than fivefold since 2022, including a 100% increase between 2023 and 2024.

Independent artists are driving this growth, accounting for over 90% of spotify royalties in Egypt in 2024. Genres like Mahraganat and Egyptian hip-hop have moved from underground venues to mainstream streaming charts, redefining Egypt’s contemporary sound.

The demand for Egyptian music extends globally, with over 80% of royalties originating from international listeners in countries like the US, UK, Germany, Brazil, India, and Indonesia. In 2024, Egyptian music was discovered over 480 million times by first-time Spotify listeners.
