U.S. Military Strikes Iranian Nuclear Facilities in Operation “Midnight Hammer”

B-2 bombers destroy three iranian nuclear sites after elaborate decoy operation.

In a surprise military operation dubbed “midnight Hammer,” the United states launched a successful strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. The operation, executed on saturday, involved a complex strategy that included decoy deployments and precision bombing, according to Pentagon officials.

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday night that three Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed by bunker-busting bombers. The Pentagon provided a detailed breakdown of the operation on Sunday morning.

Here’s a timeline of how the events unfolded:

Decoy Deployment

The initial phase of Operation “Midnight Hammer” involved the deployment of decoy B-2 bombers. According to Joint chiefs of Staff chairman Gen. Dan Caine, a group of B-2 bombers took off from their base in Missouri and were observed heading towards Guam. this was a deliberate misdirection to mask the true target of the mission.

Simultaneously occurring, the actual strike force, consisting of seven B-2 stealth bombers, flew eastward undetected for 18 hours. The U.S. military revealed on Sunday that these bombers maintained minimal dialogue and were refueled mid-air to avoid detection.

A pentagon-provided map indicated that the B-2 stealth bombers approached Iran by flying over the Mediterranean Sea, Israel, Jordan, and iraq.

Entering Iranian Airspace

As the bombers approached Iranian airspace, the operation intensified. At approximately 5 p.m.ET Saturday, a U.S. submarine launched over two dozen Tomahawk land attack cruise missiles. U.S. fighter jets acted as decoys ahead of the bombers to draw away any potential Iranian fighter jets and missiles.

The B-2 bombers then released 14 bunker-busting bombs, each weighing 30,000 pounds. According to the pentagon, the entire operation involved over 125 U.S. military aircraft.

Nuclear Sites Obliterated

President Donald Trump addressed the nation from the White House at about 10 p.m. ET Saturday, stating that the strikes had “completely and fully obliterated” three Iranian nuclear sites. However, U.S. defense officials clarified that a comprehensive assessment of the damage was still underway.
