Frankie Ballard to Headline “A Night in Nashville” at Kaulig Companies Championship

Ballard steps in after Conner Smith withdraws from the event following a tragic accident.
Country music artist Frankie Ballard will now headline “A Night in Nashville” during this week’s Kaulig Companies Championship, replacing Conner Smith.
Conner Smith was originally scheduled to headline the concert on Folds of Honor Friday, June 20, which honors veterans and first responders during the tournament at Firestone Country club.
However, on Sunday, Smith was identified as the driver in a fatal accident in Nashville where a 77-year-old woman was killed.
William Morris Endeavor released a statement saying, “As Conner Smith takes time to privately process recent events, he will sadly not be performing in akron on June 20. We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this difficult time.”
Frankie Ballard, known for hits like “Sunshine & whiskey,” “Helluva Life,” and “Young & Crazy,” released his album “The Messenger” in March, which blends country with gospel, blues, and rock ‘n’ roll.
The evening will begin with a happy hour, followed by the concert in the Kaulig Infinity Zone, near the water tower at firestone Country Club.The show is scheduled to start around 6 p.m., with The Shootouts, from Akron, opening the event.
Admission to the concert is included with a Friday tournament ticket. Active U.S. military, veterans, and first responders, along with one guest, can attend the Kaulig Companies Championship for free by registering at kauligchampionship.com. Admission is complimentary for those 18 and under.
