The initial beta release of Android 16 QPR1 introduced a redesigned lock screen featuring a “seen notifications” section.This new UI element has been further refined in Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.

With the revamped notifications menu introduced in the previous Android 16 beta, Google incorporated a “show seen notifications” section. This feature distinguishes itself by making lock screen notifications less obtrusive, relegating them too a small pill beneath new notifications.

The Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2 update brought a minor adjustment to that pill on Pixel devices. Instead of an opaque UI element, the pill is now transparent. Additionally, Google has renamed the corresponding setting to “viewed notifications” within the settings menu. This transparent pill also encompasses silent notifications.
