federal agents carried out raids at multiple locations in Los Angeles on Friday, resulting in confrontations with demonstrators who gathered to protest the actions.

reports indicate that masked agents removed individuals from two Home depot stores in the LA area, and also from the headquarters of clothing manufacturer Ambiance Apparel in the cityS Fashion District.

While the exact number of people taken into custody remains unconfirmed, initial estimates from news helicopter footage suggest that approximately two dozen individuals were transported in white vans.

Heavily armed agents, some equipped with gas masks, were observed engaging with protesters, attempting to manage large groups that had assembled to challenge the raids. Smoke grenades were reportedly deployed near the crowds, and pepper spray was used by federal officers to disperse the area.

Protesters attempted to block armored trucks carrying FBI agents as thay left the scene. There were reports of eggs being thrown at the vehicles.

The Los Angeles fire department provided medical assistance to injured protesters,including David Huerta,president of the California branch of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The organization issued a statement calling for his immediate release.

Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove stated on X, “I am closely monitoring the Ice raids that are currently happening across Los Angeles, including at a Korean-American owned store in my district,” and provided contact details for constituents seeking assistance.

“LA has long been a safe haven for immigrants,” she added.”Trump claims he’s targeting criminals, but he’s really just tearing families apart and destabilizing entire communities.”

Mayor Karen Bass expressed her anger in a statement, saying she was “deeply angered by what has taken place,” and that her office was working with immigrant rights organizations.

“These tactics sow terror in our communities and disrupt basic principles of safety in our city,” she said. “We will not stand for this.”
