Following a defeat by Austria, Scotland’s coach, Andreatta, is emphasizing teh importance of extracting valuable lessons and maintaining a forward-looking outlook as the team gears up for upcoming matches. Andreatta highlighted the team’s need to stay confident and focused, even when facing difficulties on the field.

“There’s going to be moments in the match where it doesn’t go right,but that’s where we are right now,but it’s not losing faith and know that we’ve taken one step forward and we just need to keep taking that step forward,” she said.

Youthful Maturity and team Enhancement

Andreatta acknowledged the maturity displayed by younger players during the match in Tilburg. “I think what they showed was a real maturity and able to manage the moment and they thrived,” Andreatta noted, suggesting a willingness to integrate youth into the squad.

She also observed improvements in the team’s performance during the second half, attributing it to increased belief and confidence. “We could see an improvement in the second half and I think just that belief that they can play and choose moments to go forward with variation and I think our defending was a lot more aggressive because they had more belief and confidence with that,” she explained.

“I think what they showed was a real maturity and able to manage the moment and they thrived.”

Andreatta praised the impact of players coming off the bench, both emerging talents and experienced members, describing them as “game changers.” She sees this as a positive sign for the team’s overall strength and individual player development. “I think what we saw were players coming from the bench and being game changers – both emerging and experienced – and I think that’s fantastic for the team and for those individual players,” she stated.

Looking ahead, Andreatta is steadfast to maintain a positive outlook and focus on continuous improvement. She acknowledged the challenges ahead, especially the upcoming match against a top-10 ranked team.”We took a lot of learnings from it and now what we want to do looking ahead is close this campaign and then, after that, look ahead to a new start in our next camp after that,” she added.
