Manchester United has officially announced the acquisition of forward Matheus Cunha from Wolves, pending the completion of visa and registration protocols.

The transfer was initiated after United triggered the £62.5 million ($83.5m) release clause embedded in the Brazil international’s contract at Molineux. According to sources, Cunha has committed to a five-year contract,which includes an option for an additional year.

The financial arrangement will see United pay the transfer fee over a two-year period, deviating from their initial proposal to spread the payments across four or five years.

During his tenure with Wolves, Cunha showcased his attacking prowess by scoring 17 goals and providing six assists across all competitions this season.

The acquisition of Cunha aligns with United’s strategy to bolster their squad under head coach Ruben Amorim this summer.

Potential Outgoings at Old Trafford

In parallel with new arrivals,several players are expected to depart from Old Trafford in the coming months.

“Cunha scored 17 goals and registered six assists for Wolves in all competitions this season.”

The club is reportedly considering offers for Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho. Additionally, winger Alejandro Garnacho is also rumored to be on the list of potential departures.
