Get ready for some more hockey-player-turned-golf-pro antics! Adam Sandler is teeing off again in “Happy Gilmore 2,” the sequel to the beloved 1996 sports comedy. The new installment promises a slew of celebrity cameos and a return to the green for some familiar faces.

Adam Sandler is back as Happy Gilmore, the former hockey player who finds unexpected success in the world of golf. He’s not alone; Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald are also reprising their roles from the original film.Adding to the star power, Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny, Kid cudi, and “Uncut Gems” director Benny Safdie also are in the sequel, with Adam Sandler teasing that Safdie has a “juicy part.” Golfing stars Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, and Will Zalatoris will also be making appearances.

Kyle Newacheck, known for his work on “Workaholics” and “What We Do in the Shadows,” is directing “Happy Gilmore 2.” He previously collaborated with Adam Sandler on the 2019 film “Murder Mystery.” Adam Sandler co-wrote the sequel with Tim Herlihy, who also co-wrote the original film.

“I know your character’s decapitation in the first movie precluded your participation in the sequel, but we all appreciated the fruit basket and the hilarious note.”

Remembering morris the Alligator

Adam Sandler recently paid tribute to Morris,the alligator Morris, who appeared in the original “Happy Gilmore” and recently passed away at the age of 80. In the film, Morris famously confronts Happy, leading to the realization that Morris was the same gator who bit off the hand of Happy’s mentor, Chubbs (Carl Weathers).

“Goodbye, Morris. We are all gonna miss you,” Adam Sandler tweeted following the declaration of morris’s death on May 12.
