Following their qualification for the Champions League, Liverpool is now gaining clarity on the teams they might face in the upcoming season.Securing their spot on April 12, the team, led by Arne Slot, is preparing for a return to Europe’s premier competition.

Confirmed Teams and Potential Matchups

With several leagues concluding, the landscape of qualified teams is becoming clearer. The revamped league stage will see 36 teams competing, each playing eight matches against different opponents, split evenly between home and away games.

The allocation of teams into four pots is resolute by UEFA coefficients, reflecting their performance in European competitions over the past five years. Seven teams will emerge from the qualifying rounds in July and August, joining the 29 already confirmed for the draw on August 28.

Pot 1 Teams Announced

The nine teams in Pot 1 include Liverpool, alongside fellow English clubs Manchester City and Chelsea. They are joined by Spanish giants real Madrid and Barcelona, German powerhouses Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and last season’s finalists, PSG and Inter.

Other Qualified Teams

Besides the Pot 1 teams, other qualified clubs include Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle from the premier League. Spain is represented by Atletico Madrid,Villarreal,and Athletic Bilbao. Italy has Napoli, Atalanta, and Juventus, while Germany includes Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt.

PSV Eindhoven and Ajax have qualified from Holland, Marseille and Monaco from France, and Sporting Lisbon from Portugal. Olympiakos from Greece, Slavia prague from Czechia, Galatasaray from Turkey, and Union Saint-Gilloise from Belgium complete the list.

Potential First-Time Matchups

Among the directly qualified teams, Liverpool has yet to face Newcastle, Sporting Lisbon, and Slavia Prague in European competitions. Notably,five of the eight teams they faced in the previous league stage-AC Milan,bologna,RB Leipzig,girona,and Lille-did not qualify this time.

The final of next season’s Champions League is scheduled to take place in Budapest on may 30.
