Yankees Make MLB History with Explosive Start; League Recap

By Archnetys News team

Yankees’ historic Power Display

The New York Yankees etched their name in baseball history on Tuesday, achieving a feat never before seen in Major League Baseball: initiating a game with three consecutive home runs for the second time in a single season. This explosive start powered them to a dominant 15-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Back-to-back-to-Back Bombs

Trent grisham, Aaron judge, and Ben Rice launched consecutive long balls off Orioles’ pitcher Kyle Gibson in the opening frame. This remarkable display of power mirrored their March 29th game against the Milwaukee Brewers, where Paul Goldschmidt, Cody Bellinger, and Judge similarly ignited the game with three straight home runs. Such offensive firepower early in the game is a rare and significant advantage, setting the tone for a commanding victory.

Gibson’s Rough Return

For Kyle Gibson, the game marked a challenging return to the major leagues. After 30 starts for the St. louis Cardinals last season, the 37-year-old right-hander signed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with Baltimore in late March. Following a stint in the minor leagues, Gibson’s recall proved difficult, as he surrendered nine earned runs on eleven hits in just 3.2 innings.

It was a tough day at the office.I just couldn’t find my rhythm, and they capitalized on every mistake.

Kyle Gibson, after the game

After Rice’s home run put the Yankees up 3-0, Gibson managed to retire Goldschmidt. Though, Bellinger followed with another homer, and an Anthony Volpe double extended the lead to 5-0 before the end of the first inning. Rice later added a second home run, finishing the game with three hits and four runs scored.

More Yankee Offense

Cody Bellinger and Austin Wells also contributed to the Yankees’ offensive onslaught with home runs of their own. On the pitching side, Carlos Rodon (4-3) was dominant, retiring the first 15 batters he faced and ultimately allowing only two runs on two hits in six innings.
