Remembering Sabyrbek Kylbekov: A Pioneer of Kyrgyz Art
April 15th marks the anniversary of the death of Sabyrbek Kylbekov (February 15, 1914 – April 15, 1968), a celebrated Kyrgyz Soviet artist and Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR. Kylbekov,a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR,is remembered as one of the first Soviet Kyrgyz painters and a master of lyrical landscapes.His contributions significantly shaped the development of Kyrgyz art.

International Culture Day: Celebrating Art and Heritage
Observed annually on April 15th,International Culture Day commemorates the signing of the International Treaty “On the Protection of Art and Scientific Institutions and Historical Monuments” in 1935. This treaty, also known as the Roerich Pact, emphasizes the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage during times of conflict and peace.

Spotlight on Kyrgyz Athletes: Arsen Eraliev and Akjol Mahmudov
April 15th is also the birthday of two prominent Kyrgyz athletes:
- Arsen Eraliev: Born on April 15,1990,Eraliev is a Greco-Roman wrestler and an Olympian.
- akjol Mahmudov: Born on April 15, 1999, Mahmudov is also a Greco-Roman wrestler and an Olympic medalist.
These athletes represent Kyrgyzstan on the international stage, inspiring future generations.
the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Kyrgyzstan: A History
On April 15, 1997, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) officially opened its office in the kyrgyz Republic. The IOM, a UN agency with headquarters in Geneva and offices in 165 countries, addresses migration issues worldwide.
The IOM works with governments, international organizations, and civil society to ensure the orderly and humane management of migration, promote international cooperation on migration issues, and assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems. Currently, the IOM is actively involved in assisting migrants and refugees globally, especially in regions facing conflict or economic hardship. Such as, the IOM is providing critical support to displaced populations in Ukraine and assisting with resettlement efforts in various countries.
