Kharkiv Under Siege: Drone Strikes Target Civilian and Military Infrastructure

A recent wave of russian drone attacks has struck Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, resulting in casualties and widespread damage. The strikes, which occurred on Saturday night, targeted a range of locations, including a military medical facility, a shopping center, and residential apartment buildings.

Casualties and Devastation: A City Grapples with the aftermath

Tragically, the attacks have claimed the lives of at least two individuals, with dozens more sustaining injuries. According to local authorities, one of the deceased was recovered from the debris of a collapsed structure. The injured, whose numbers vary slightly across different reports, are receiving medical attention. Kharkiv Mayor Ihor terekhov reported 27 injuries, while regional governor Oleh Syniehubov cited 25. Other sources placed the number as high as 30.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army confirmed that military personnel receiving treatment at the targeted medical center were among those injured. In addition to the loss of life and injuries, an office building was also struck, resulting in a fire, further compounding the devastation.
