Los Angeles (dpa) – US pop star Taylor Swift has released a new video for her song “Elizabeth Taylor”. The video for the ode to the Hollywood icon consists of a series of scenes from Elizabeth Taylor’s life and films – such as “Cleopatra“. Swift is not featured in it.
In the past, Swift has described the film legend as a “glamorous and polarizing” figure and as one of her role models with whom she strongly identifies. The song is part of Swift’s twelfth studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which she released in October. The video can be seen on Apple Music and Spotify Premium.
The 36-year-old global star has already been awarded 14 Grammys. She is considered one of the most influential pop artists of her generation. With “The Life of a Showgirl” the artist also landed in first place in the official German annual charts in 2025. According to the Spotify platform, in 2024 and 2025 she was the artist most streamed by users in Germany.
