Based on the novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe (published in Italy in 2024 and appreciated by audiences and critics), halfway April comes up Apple TV Margo has money problemsthe series created by David E. Kelley (showrunner and screenwriter) and produced by A24.
The series has a top-notch cast, with Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer e Nicole Kidman (both protagonists and absolute producers). Among the actors, also the Emmy winner Nick Offermanbeyond Taddeo Graham.

The plot
What the TV series based on the book is about Margo has money problems? The plot has at the center a student 20 year old university student PRECINCT. The child’s father? Mark, his university professormarried and with two children… He is this is where the family drama Of Margowith a touching and comical character at the same time.

The cast of the series
The protagonist, Margo, is played by the famous Fanning, while Pfeiffer plays the role of the mother, a former Hooter’s waitress (single) looking for a new husband. Father Jinx is represented by Offerman. Going forward with the episodes Kidman appears, with an expanded role compared to the book (as you read above Elle), in the role of a former wrestler and lawyer specializing in custody cases.
After Presumed innocent (dramedy series – nominated for an Emmy – based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turrow, of which the second season is currently being made), Margo Has Money Problems marks a new collaboration between Apple TV and Kelley.
As for Rufi Thorpe, who lives in California and teaches at The Book Incubator, Bollati Boringhieri also published the novel in 2021 Our furious friendship (in the translation by Claudia Durastanti), finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award. Thorpe is also the author of Little Goddess (2015), finalista all’International Dylan Thomas Prize e al Flaherty-Dunnan First Novel Prize e di Dear Fang, With Love (2016).
