Mark Ruffalo explained why he was there at an earlier protest in New York: “Because we see — our democracy is in really serious trouble. We see a president who has made himself a king and a dictator, and we don’t see an opposition strong enough to stand up to the trampling of our rights and the Constitution that is happening every day with executive orders, with refusal to obey court orders, with kidnapping of immigrants, with to people who are here legally, to people who are having their children taken away. We are disgusted by this and we are afraid, and we know that the only way to fight this now is for people to come together.”
