Powerful Fabia Special Series in honor of Škoda’s 130th anniversary
Škoda Auto has presented the special series Fabia 130, which is based on the Monte Carlo trim level and stands out in the Škoda range with the image of a distinctly sporty hatchback. The engine, carefully developed by Škoda Auto’s Technical Development Department for this limited series, includes a more powerful 1.5 TSI engine and provides improved handling. In addition, it offers driving modes and assistance systems adapted for more dynamic driving, as well as a special seven-speed DSG transmission setting that complements the sporty nature of the model. The Fabia 130 stands out with motorsport-inspired details, aerodynamically optimizing elements and original design wheels. The latest addition to the Fabia range will be offered in limited quantities.
Improvements in power and driving characteristics: the fastest production Škoda Fabia to date
The Fabia 130 is equipped with an improved 1.5 TSI EVO2 engine, which reaches 130 kW. The powertrain specialists at Škoda’s Technical Development Department have refined several parts, such as the intake manifold, vibration damper and valve arms, to match the increased power. The engine power now increases from just 3,500 rpm, with maximum power of 130 kW achieved between 5,750 and 6,000 rpm, and maximum torque of 250 Nm between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm.
In particular, the seven-speed DSG transmission has been improved. Key improvements include higher shift points for faster acceleration, dual-clutch downshifting in Sport mode for smoother gear changes, and a modified braking algorithm to speed up re-acceleration.
The Fabia 130 comes standard with a 15 mm lowered sports suspension along with 18-inch wheels that improve handling and stability. The steering has also been redesigned, now offering a more precise and immediate response in the newly tuned Normal and Sport driving modes.
This special series also includes a two-stage dynamic control system that can be accessed from the car’s menu. The Anti-Skid System (ASR) can be switched off to deactivate the traction control and allow a controlled skid under the right conditions.
