Coffee has been shown to have protective effects on the liver when consumed in moderation. The British Liver Trust organization indicates that drinking coffee can reduce the risk of cirrhosis and a specific type of liver cancer.

According to a 2021 study cited by Medical News Today, even decaffeinated and instant coffee have been associated with a lower incidence of chronic liver disease. The recommended consumption is 3 to 4 cups a day.
