A plan for new investments in infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment marks the axis of the conversations initiated by DP World in Chile with the San Antonio Port Company (EPSA). The objective is to develop improvements in the San Antonio multipurpose terminalthe largest in the central area of the country, within the framework of a formal process currently underway.
In this context, the company also seeks to extend the terminal’s concession, along with expanding its operating capacity in the coming years.
Capacity expansion and concession extension

The CEO of DP World in Chile, Curtis Doiron, explained the scope of the initiative: “we have begun formal conversations with EPSA to make new investments in our multipurpose terminal in San Antonio and extend the concession until 2041, with the objective of our capacity growing by 30% to 1.3 million TEUs.”
According to the executive, this projection responds to the demands of international trade. “the competitiveness, productivity and security required by the growing demand for international trade in Chile and that DP World offers as a global operator in comprehensive logistics.”
Likewise, he specified the technical component of the plan: “These investments involve new works and state-of-the-art equipment.”
Role of the terminal in the logistics operation
DP World’s multipurpose terminal in San Antonio serves various operating segments. These include containers, vehicle imports, bulk cargo and cruise passengers.
Regarding its relevance, Curtis Doiron noted: “DP World’s multipurpose terminal in San Antonio, whose operations cover containers, vehicle imports, bulk cargo and cruise passengers, is a key player in the logistics development of the central area of the country.”
Projection and positioning in the South Pacific
In line with this investment plan, the company plans to strengthen its regional positioning. “With this new investment and its projected growth, we will strengthen the port and logistics leadership of the central area of Chile in the South Pacific.”
Current terminal operation
Currently, DP World’s multipurpose terminal in San Antonio operates the Costanera-Espigón Berthing Front, within the port infrastructure of the central zone.
