Bologna, 17 March 2026 – The tail end of winter with the return of nevebefore the arrival of spring. Arpa Emilia Romagna and Civil Protection have issued aorange weather warning for wind in the provinces of Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, Forlì-Cesena and Rimini, while a‘yellow alert by wind in all the provinces of Emilia-Romagna, for snow in the Apennines and for the state of the sea along the Adriatic coast.
Be careful of storm surges
Tomorrow, on the coast, the sea will be very rough or roughwith possible local erosion phenomena, while along the entire mountain range landslides or landslides on particularly fragile slopes cannot be ruled out. Civil Protection recommends maximum caution and limiting travel in the most exposed areas.

The weather forecast
According to forecasts, strong stormy winds from the north-east are expected on the Apennine ridges, with gusts that could exceed 75-88 km/h. Moderate gale force winds will affect the central-eastern sector, the hills and the coastal strip, with intensity between 62 and 74 km/h. The morning will be characterized by light or moderate intensity snowfall (15-30 cm) at altitudes between 700 and 800 metres, with possible accumulations even at lower altitudes. In the afternoon the snow level will rise to 1000-1100 meters in the eastern Apennines and to 900-1000 meters in the Emilian Apennines.
