Dario Fromer’s career is not conventional. For years, his life revolved around high-performance martial arts, a discipline that seemed far from the world of galleries. However, what began as an “accident” or a search for purpose, became his reason for being. As he points out in his interviews, he gave up beatings for caressing clay, finding his true vocation and profession in ceramics.
Trained in the “royal school” of the legendary teacher Leo TavellaFromer has managed to consolidate his own language where the human figure is intertwined with geometry. His talent has been widely recognized: he recently obtained the First Honorable Mention at the 2024 International Ceramics Exhibition (CAAC) and the First Prize in the same competition in 2022in addition to distinctions in the prestigious National Hall of Visual Arts.
The Workshop: The art of “Doing”
Under the premise that creativity is developed through action, the workshop in Rosario proposes a playful and profound challenge: model a head (with the possibility of a body) from scratch in a small format.
«I work on the mixture between the human figure and geometric figures. I connect with the creative process more than with the finished work, because in that process a dialogue opens with the work that guides you.”explains Fromer. The workshop is designed so that participants, without the need for complex prior experience, can build their own piece from simple geometric shapes, prioritizing enjoyment and intuition.
