It was the resident himself who reported the fire. It was then reported that the resident had inhaled smoke.
– The emergency services initially had contact with him by phone. He was advised to leave the residence. The connection was then broken and repeated attempts to make contact were unsuccessful, the police wrote to the press at 10.30pm.
Even then, the police feared that he might still be inside the house, which was fully engulfed in flames when the emergency services arrived, but a search was also made for the man in the immediate area
Just before midnight, the police state that the man in his 70s has still not been accounted for and that he is presumed dead.
– The police have not come into contact with the male resident in his seventies, who is also the owner of the house. The emergency services have carried out a search in the area around the home without finding him. There is therefore reason to believe that the man may have died in the fire, operations manager Morten Rebnord writes to the press.
The man’s relatives have been notified.
