MotoGP 26: Release Date & New Features | April 2024

The 2026 MotoGP World Championship season MotoGP 26 now has a virtual counterpart. The game will be released on April 29 for all consoles. This edition brings big changes to the franchise, with completely revamped driving physics and an improved immersion into paddock life.

Italian studio Milestone has indeed thoroughly revised the game. The motorcycle’s steering and weight distribution between rider and machine have been improved for greater stability in corners and better control during acceleration. The rider’s movements, which have been unchanged for several editions, have been completely revamped – animations, weight shifts, trajectory corrections in the middle of a turn – for a more convincing and realistic riding experience.

The career mode is evolving.

The core of the game remains the paddock, which has been redesigned for a more story-focused experience. The career mode puts the player in an environment inspired by Grand Prix weekends: press conferences, conversations with engineers and strategic decisions to be made together with the agent to shape the career, just like the drivers in the paddock do when finalizing their contracts for 2027.

Public statements now really carry weight: challenging a rival or restoring the team’s self-confidence has a direct impact on the set goals and technical development. The transfer market is also becoming more complex, allowing players to negotiate their opportunities more realistically and consistently.

What’s new in MotoGP 26?

MotoGP 26 is also expanding the relaxation areas where riders can relax between races. Following the previously introduced Tuscan and Alpine landscapes, a brand new Canterbury Park has been added, especially for other disciplines such as flat track and minibike racing. Another important new feature: it is finally possible to ride production motorcycles.

The dynamic rider rating system will be linked to the real MotoGP season: rider statistics will evolve throughout the championship. In addition, the game introduces a system of collectible cards with different rarity levels, illustrated by Japanese artist Ranka Fujiwara, a specialist in the MotoGP universe.

As for multiplayer, the promise is clear: large-scale spectacle. Thanks to cross-play and improved matchmaking, up to 22 players can compete simultaneously. However, Switch and Switch 2 users will have to make do with a starting field of up to 12 drivers, without cross-platform play. The design tools also return, allowing players to design liveries and helmets and share them with the community.
