A model – a little – cheaper than the others. The Apple brand announced the launch, this Monday, of a new iPhone model, the 17th, which, according to it, “enriches the iPhone 17 range with a powerful and more affordable model”.
On the technical side, this smartphone is equipped with a “latest generation” A19 chip, a “new generation cellular modem designed by Apple” and “up to twice as fast” as that of the iPhone 16e. It also has a 48-megapixel camera, an optical-quality 2x telephoto lens and a 6.1-inch screen.
“The iPhone 17e can also take next-generation portraits,” assures Apple. “It recognizes people, dogs and cats, and automatically records depth information, allowing users to turn photos into beautiful portraits with background blur and adjust focus in the Photos app after shooting. »
On sale March 11
On the battery side, this model “offers a day’s battery life,” says Apple, specifying that with USB-C charging, the iPhone can be recharged to 50% in approximately 30 minutes.
Like other iPhone 17s, the 17th will integrate Apple’s AI, “Apple Intelligence”, which allows users, for example, “to communicate in multiple languages using Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime and Phone, as well as with AirPods”.
This model will be available in three colors: black, white and pastel pink. It can be pre-ordered from Wednesday March 4, for sale next Wednesday March 11 in 70 countries including France.
“The iPhone 17e will be offered with a basic storage of 256 GB at the Apple resale price of 719 euros, i.e. double the starting capacity of the previous generation for the same price and a capacity multiplied by four compared to the iPhone 12”, develops Apple in a press release addressed to the press.
“Our customers want a product that lasts, and iPhone 17e has everything it takes to meet their expectations. With the A19 chip guaranteeing incredible performance, doubled the starting storage capacity, a smarter camera system and enhanced durability, the iPhone 17e is designed to be fast, efficient and secure for many years to come,” said Kaiann Drance, Apple vice president of global iPhone product marketing.
